Type Species:	by subsequent designation by Latreille, 1810 (Consid. gén. ordre nat. anim.: 442): Musca hypoleon Linnaeus, 1767, Systema Naturae, ed.12, 1 (2): 980 = Musca trilineata Linnaeus, 1767, ibidem, 1 (2): 980 * ------- (*) M. hypoleon Linnaeus: based on a yellow form of O. trilineata. The original material was collected in Germany. Haliday (1851, Ent. Ztg. Stettin, 12: 137) stated that the first specimen under 'hypoleon' in the Linnaeus collection (London, Linnean Society) really belonged to O. trilineata as currently defined. (Rozkošný, 1983, Biosyst.
